Why Should I Study This Course?

Studying Business is an excellent way to gain skills that you can apply to any future career. There are also many career choices which combine business with other areas of study, such as sport, languages, catering and a range of technologies.

What Would I Study?

Students will build knowledge of core business concepts and apply them to business contexts to develop a broad understanding of how businesses work. Students will develop knowledge and skills needed to analyse data, think critically and make informed decisions. Students will use an enquiring and critical approach to understand that business behaviour can be studied from a range of perspectives. Throughout the A Level course students will study the following:
Marketing and people, managing business activities, business decisions and strategy, global business.

How and When is it Assessed?

The course is assessed by data response to business case studies and a research task.
There are 3 examination papers each 2 hours long.
All themes will be examined at the end of Year 13.

Where Can This Course Take me?

Business Studies acts as a base for any career, as all employment involves business skills.
